Four Kerala Bumper Lotteries are held at different times throughout the year, celebrating festivals and seasonal events. 1. Where can I buy Kerala Lottery tickets?

You can purchase tickets from over 35,000 registered lottery agents and more than 100,000 retailers. The Kerala Lottery ticket rate ranges from Rs. 40 for weekly draws to Rs. 500 per ticket for bumper draws. 4. How do I find out if I’ve won a prize?

5. How can I claim a Kerala Lottery prize?

Prizes up to Rs. 1 Lakh can be redeemed at a District Lottery Office.

Winnings above Rs. 1 Lakh must be claimed from the office of the Director of State Lotteries, located in Thiruvananthapuram, or from a bank - details are below. You must sign your name and write your name and address on the back of the winning ticket. You will also need to provide the following documents:

  • Claim application and copy of both sides of the ticket
  • Two passport-sized photos of the winner, confirmed by a Gazetted Officer or Notary
  • A receipt form
  • A guardianship certificate, if the winner is a minor
  • Joint declaration, if there is a joint claim
  • Copy of the PAN card
  • Identity document such as Ration Card, Driving License, Passport, or Election ID card

Prizes may also be claimed via Nationalised, Scheduled or State / District Co-Operative banks. Take the ticket and the above documents, if required, to the bank. The bank will file the claim with the Director of State Lotteries with the follwing documents:

  • Letter of authorisation from the winner
  • Certificate from the receiving bank
  • Certificate from the collecting bank

6. How long do I have to claim a prize?

Winnings must be claimed within 30 days of the draw date and the ticket holder must provide the necessary documents, including a claim application form, two passport photographs and a receipt for the prize money. You are also advised to sign the back of your ticket and include an address to prevent others from claiming winnings on your behalf.

7. Do I have to pay tax on Kerala Lottery prize winnings?

For all prize winnings exceeding Rs. 10,000, an income tax of 30% shall be deducted. Claims made by agents are also liable to income tax at a rate of 10%. For more information, you are advised to contact the lottery district office.
